![]() ![]() #1) NO ONE ever asked eBay its opinion on how YOU run YOUR business. It only sounds so onerous - because people fall into the "its against the rules on eBay/Amazon etc" do drop ship or use 3p fulfillment (or what ever) Maybe they did and we’ll never know that either. Perhaps if this seller may have communicated their actions ahead of the delivery as an anxiety mitigation attempt it might have helped. It would be nice to see a seller get any benefit of doubt due when all factors in evidence may back that now and then. And it’s not like the supply chain has been without it’s share of challenges lately either. Which, with eBay’s hair trigger refunding, every sale is these days. Similar occurrences, where replacement stock was purchased at retail elsewhere to fill an eBay order, used to be an endorsed practice in an ‘emergency’. The OP describes circumstances that involve some kind of potential fraud or malfeasance, but it gives no clue as to seller’s tenure, reputation, or evidence of past similar behavior which would be worth noting given any level of ‘suspicion’. Except as it applies to inordinately rewarding a buyer’s unfounded impatience of course. The seller’s explanation describes a level of customer service that almost anybody associated with anything ‘eBay’ would naturally find hard to recognize these days. ![]() I did report the seller but he is still selling on Ebay.īeing wary of snakes in the grass is reasonable, but burning the whole field to expose them means nobody eats. I eventually received the my order (delivered in only its original box, not wrapped up). I called UPS about the new tracking number and it was also coming from Amazon. I emailed the seller and he replied in the middle of the night that UPS lost the order and would send a replacement. They said I should call Amazon about the mixup. I called UPS and they told me it was delivered but to a different address and it came from Amazon. I went out to my porch and it was not there. I received a text from UPS saying it was delivered. They sent a tracking number that said it would arrive by UPS. It was 1/2 the price I could have bought it at JoAnn's. My Ebay experience with a drop shipper was buying something from a seller outside the country, even though they had a US store location listed. Who are these people that don't go out and work hard like I did? I know I sound resentul but it aggravates me. To puchase something on Ebay and have it come from Walmart or Amazon seems so wrong somehow even though I am getting what I purchased. I searched for items, researched them, stored them, photographed them, listed them, wrapped them up and sent them off. I worked hard to build up my online business. This dropshipping type of selling seems so sleazy to me. Selling online is so different than when I started out selling. When an eBay Order Arrives from Walmart: Cause for Concern ![]()
